New shoes dubbed "somewhat pointy" by onlookers

A 35 year old man from south-west London was today reported to be “moderately happy” with his recent purchase of a new pair of shoes, despite expressing some early reservations. The man, who is believed to be the writer of an unpopular and not very funny news satire website, was initially concerned that the shoes might be “too pointy” and “a bit trendy” compared to the kind of shoes he usually wears.

However, on reassurance from his girlfriend that the shoes looked OK with jeans and will go nicely with that suit he bought to wear at Anna and Thom’s wedding next month, the man agreed that the shoes were a good buy.

Younger colleagues at the office where the man works were not as enamoured with his new footwear. “They definitely are too pointy for him,” said Joanna, a 23 year old admin assistant “Who the hell does he think he is, coming to work in shoes like that?”

The man’s old shoes could not be reached for comment.

Gayer than a gay thing on a gay day. Chunky Pods is where it’s at.

Yes. Well. I always fail at shoes. Frankly, it’s a miracle that I’m not walking around with a pair of old cornflake boxes sellotaped to my feet.

Been convinced about white shoes yet? My sister tried to talk me into them. Thankfully I was told I don’t wear trendy enough (new enough) clothes to go with them, apparently.

Has this chap considered the aerodynamic qualities inherent to pointy footwear? There’s a very real possibility that he might actually become unintentionally airborne, or be mistaken for a clown, or something?
